The sales volume of the pork livestock at KSG Agro holding in monetary terms amounted to UAH 156.09 million (incl. VAT). During this period, about 41.5 thousand heads were sold. On average, monthly sales was about 8.3 thousand heads or 0.9 million kg.
“We see our development prospects in the streamlining of the pig breeding industry,” commented Sergiy Kasianov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at KSG Agro Holding, “There are major players in the poultry segment in Ukraine, while the breeders of pork are mainly small and medium-sized producers. At the same time, the demand for high-quality pork of European standards, including deferred, is quite high. This is explained by the smuggling of meat and fat under the guise of waste, as well as by the fact that last year, due to the ASF outbreaks, a significant part of the livestock in Ukraine was cut. Against this background, reputable manufacturers investing in a set of security measures, like us, have a chance to increase production due to unmet or deferred demand”.
As previously reported, KSG Agro plans to double the number of sows in the next 3-5 years.
“We have implemented our project by 50% and today we have about 60 thousand livestock of pigs at any time and 4.5 thousand sows. According to the project, we should have 8.6 thousands, and we will do everything to continue to further develop the project and increase the number of sows and, accordingly, livestock”, said Sergiy Kasianov.
